Investment Process

Ike Capital’s investment process is fundamentally driven. Larry does not look for bargain stocks or investments triggered by events or rumors. He does not see losses as a buying opportunity — rather, there must be a historically proven fundamental strength to every portfolio company.

Portfolios are dominated by recognized names, established businesses that have proven their success, either with a competitive edge, market dominance, or a history of providing shareholder value. Because of this orientation, Larry favors large cap stocks, although some smaller quality names have been portfolio favorites. In particular, Larry looks for stocks with a history of delivering value for shareholders — good cash flow, stock buy-back programs, or increasing dividends. S&P sectors are typically represented in Ike Capital portfolios, but because they need not be closely aligned with the broad index, client portfolios enjoy greater flexibility.

With a selective portfolio, Larry is able to monitor the market closely, and to review all client portfolios and stock positions frequently. Buy/sell actions rely primarily on fundamental and technical attributes. Larry is a patient investor, holding on to the value of winning positions rather than cashing out at a price trigger. Conversely, if his investment thesis is not realized,he assumes the market’s judgment is correct and acts quickly.
